Payment links
A payment link is a page with your name on it that takes a card payment. Use it for money that is not a booking or an invoice: a retainer agreed on the phone, a tip, a seat at a workshop, a print package or a set of presets. One link can be paid again and again until you turn it off.
Make one
- Open Business → Payment links and press Make a link.
- Say What it is (the page's heading) and choose the Kind.
- Write a few words for the person paying, such as what it secures and when the rest is due.
- Type the Amount, including GST if you charge it. Or tick They choose the amount and set The lowest they can pay, which suits tips.
- If you like, write What they read after paying, and give A link to give them after paying (a download, a booking form). The link is only shown once they have paid, on the thank-you page and in their receipt.
- Press Make the link, then copy its address from Your links and send it, or put it on your website.
Stripe must be connected (Settings → Payments) for a link to take money.
When somebody pays
- They are sent a receipt, and you hear about it on the bell.
- They are added to your clients (or matched by their email).
- It is listed under Payments, and counted in Reports, with the GST it includes at your rate if you are registered.
- A refund in Stripe takes it back out.
Turn one off
Press Turn off beside it. The page then says it has closed and takes nothing more. Turn on opens it again. Change edits the wording or the amount; what people already paid is not changed.
