Favourites and notes

For the client

Clients tap the heart on the photographs they love. The list is kept on their own device — nobody needs an account, and each person looking keeps their own.

Your list above the photographs lets them keep more than one: "The album", "Prints for mum". The hearts fill whichever list is chosen, and so does Download my favourites. They can press New list or Rename, and switch between lists, up to ten per gallery.

Opening a photograph shows a box: A note for {your studio}. That is where "could this one be a little warmer?" goes. Pressing Save on a note also favourites the photograph.

For you

Open the gallery from Galleries → Galleries. Once anybody has chosen something, the gallery's screen shows Their favourites: every chosen photograph, most-chosen first, with its file name, how many people chose it, which list it was in, and any note.

To bring those photographs up in Lightroom:

  1. Press Copy file names. The names are copied, separated by commas.
  2. In Lightroom's Library, open the filter bar and choose **Text › Filename ›

Contains**.

  1. Paste the names into the box.

Turning favourites off

If a gallery is simply being handed over, the hearts can be noise. In Settings → Settings, under What your clients can do, untick **Clients can favourite photographs and press Save**. This hides the heart and the note box on every gallery.

Asking for a set number

Proofing is for "choose twenty for the album". Set how many picks you want and the gallery counts them for the client, then emails you when they send their choices through.

Did this answer it? If not, ask the assistant — and if it cannot fix it, it passes you to a person.
