Sharing a few photographs
A venue wants two photographs for Instagram. A magazine wants five. The planner wants the ones with the flowers in.
None of them should get the couple's whole wedding — and all of them should credit you. There are two ways to do this, depending on whether you want a record of who has what.
The quick way: a share link
- Open the gallery from Galleries → Galleries.
- In the Photos panel, tick the photographs to share.
- In the box above them, type what to call it — For the venue.
- Tick Let them download if they may keep the files.
- Press Share ticked.
A link of its own appears at the top of the page under **A link to just those photographs**, with a QR code. Copy it straight away and send it: the gallery's screen does not keep a list of share links to come back to.
That page shows those photographs and your studio name, and **nothing on it leads back to the gallery**. No password, no client's link, no way to wander into the rest of the wedding.
- Downloads from it work only for the photographs in the share, and only if you ticked Let them download.
- They do not count against the client's download limit. This is you handing something over, not the client spending their allowance.
- A share only opens while the gallery is delivered and has not closed. Delete the gallery and its shares stop working too.
The tracked way: a supplier share
Clients → Suppliers holds the venues, planners, florists, celebrants and second shooters you work with. Sharing through a supplier records who got what, on what terms, and whether they have opened it.
First add them: on Clients → Suppliers, fill in Their name, **What they do and how to reach them, and press Add them**.
Then, on a delivered gallery:
- Find the Sharing with suppliers panel near the top of the gallery's
screen.
- Tick **This couple is happy for their photographs to be shared with
suppliers** (see below).
- Under Send to, choose the supplier.
- Under What they may do with them, choose the terms:
- Social media, with a credit (the usual) - Their own website and social, with a credit - Anything, including print and advertising
- Check The credit you want back. It starts as *Photography by [your
studio]* and is shown beside every photograph they see.
- Under Which photographs, tick the ones that show their work.
- Press Make them a link, and send them the link.
The panel then lists each supplier's share with Their link and whether it has been Opened yet. Press Withdraw to stop a share working at any time.
Each photograph on a supplier's page has its own Download link.
The couple has to have agreed
Supplier sharing only appears once the gallery is ticked as **This couple is happy for their photographs to be shared with suppliers**.
Some couples do not want their wedding used — a private second marriage, a family situation, a job that makes it awkward — and a photographer who shares anyway has a problem no feature is worth. So it is asked once, on the gallery, and the answer is remembered.
Ask them, tick it on the gallery, then share.
Which to use
Use a share link for a one-off: a magazine asking today, a supplier you will not deal with again.
Use a supplier share for the venues and planners you work with repeatedly, where knowing who holds what, under which terms, is worth the extra minute.
