Referrals: thank the people who send you friends

Most of your work comes from people who were recommended. Referrals gives each client a personal code to pass on, and thanks them when it works.

Turning it on

1. Go to Clients → Referrals.
2. Under The programme, tick Referrals are on.
3. Fill in What the friend takes off their booking ($) — between $1 and $500.
4. Fill in The thank-you voucher for the client who referred them ($) — between

$10 and $500.

1. Press Save.

Giving a client their code

1. Under Get a client's code, choose the client.
2. Press Show their code. It looks like AVA-K7Q2.
3. Send it to them yourself, or press Email it to them instead.

Their friend types it into the Discount code box when they book.

Email it to them is not sent to a client with no email address or who has opted out of marketing, and not more than once a day.

The rules, so it can't be gamed

• A code is for new clients. Somebody who already has a confirmed booking is told Referral codes are for new clients.
• Nobody can use their own code.
• The thank-you is only sent after the friend's session is completed, so a booking that is cancelled or never happens earns nothing.
• Each friend earns one thank-you, however many times they book.
• The thank-you voucher is emailed to the client who referred them, lasts three years, and is good for sessions and prints. See gift vouchers.
• Turning the programme off stops every code straight away; turning it on again brings them back, at the amounts you have set then.

Please note: Meridian does not yet mark sessions as completed, so thank-you vouchers are not currently being sent on their own. Until that changes, you can thank a client by selling them a voucher yourself under Business → Gift vouchers and pressing Mark paid.

Results

Results shows how many codes you have made, how many friends have had their session, how much has gone out in thank-you vouchers, and a list of each thank-you: the date, who referred, the friend, and the voucher amount.
