Overview

The first screen you see when you sign in. It shows booking requests, contracts waiting to be signed and invoices waiting to be paid, each a tap away. Below that, Finances shows what you have invoiced this year, how much of it has been paid and how much is still to come in. Further down: what you took this month and last month, what is booked for the next 30 days, and what is coming up.

Worth a look

At the top of Galleries → Galleries, Worth a look picks out galleries that need you:

  • delivered at least three days ago and never opened;
  • closing within 30 days with nothing downloaded yet;
  • visited and favourited a lot, with nothing ordered.

Each line links to the gallery, most urgent first. Each is a specific email you could send this morning, which is more useful than a chart.

A gallery's own numbers

Open a delivered gallery and look under What happened:

  • Not opened yet, with the date it was delivered; or, once it has been opened:
  • Visits, Favourites and Downloads;
  • Until first look: how long after delivery they first opened it.

How long they waited tells you a lot. A gallery delivered a fortnight ago and never opened is an email you should send today. A gallery opened four minutes after delivery is a client who is likely to buy prints, and worth ringing.

Below that, The ones they keep going back to shows the photographs they favourite, download and look at most, with favourites counting for more than views (marking something is a decision; looking at it is not). That is the list to suggest an album from.

Business → Reports

The longer view, for any dates you choose:

  • what you received, what is still owed and overdue, and what is left after tax and costs;
  • your takings over the last twelve months;
  • sessions booked, by kind of session;
  • where your clients came from, and what they have paid;
  • how many enquiries became bookings;
  • if you are registered for GST, the figures for your tax return.

Business → Expenses has the rest: spending by category, and **What each shoot made** (what came in against what that job cost you).

See payments, tax and your figures for the tax side, and sending your numbers to your accountant to download it all.

What is not collected

We add no third-party tracking or advertising to your site or your galleries. Gallery visits and downloads are counted inside Meridian, for you, and go nowhere else.

If you want Google Analytics on your website, go to **Website → Site settings, open the Analytics tab, put your measurement ID in Analytics id and press Save all of it**.

That is your choice, and it brings some homework with it. Google Analytics sets tracking cookies on your website, and Meridian does not add a cookie notice or consent banner to your site when you turn it on. So:

  • mention Google Analytics in your own privacy notice, and
  • depending on where your visitors are, you may need to ask their permission before it runs. Visitors in the UK or Europe, for example, generally have to agree first; the rules elsewhere differ.

See cookies for more. If none of that appeals, leave Analytics id empty: the numbers on this page need no cookie notice at all.

A gallery's numbers are removed when the gallery is, not kept forever as a quiet record of who looked at what.
