Putting finished galleries away

Archiving tidies old galleries out of your list and closes their links, without deleting anything.

Put galleries away

  1. Go to Galleries → Archive.
  2. Under Ready to put away, choose how old: Delivered more than 6, 12, 18,

24 or 36 months ago, then press Show.

  1. Tick the galleries you have finished with.
  2. Press Put the ticked galleries away.

What happens

  • The gallery leaves your main gallery list and appears under Put away on the Archive page.
  • Its link stops working for downloads, favourites and orders. Anyone who visits it sees that the gallery has been put away and that they can get in touch with you to open it again.
  • Nothing is deleted. The photographs are untouched, and the automatic closing of galleries and removal of originals do not touch archived galleries. Anything the gallery had queued for the client, such as a reminder email, is cancelled.
  • A gallery with a paid print order that has not been sent cannot be archived until the order is marked as sent. Drafts cannot be archived: send them, or delete them.

Archived galleries still count towards your storage, because they are still held. Links you shared with suppliers stop working while the gallery is put away, and work again, unchanged, when you bring it back. The one exception is an album's own link, which archiving does not close.

Bringing one back

On the same page, under Put away, press Bring back beside the gallery. It returns to your list as it was, with the same link. Two safeguards:

  • A gallery that had already closed reopens for 30 days, rather than closing again immediately.
  • If the date for removing the original files had already passed, it is moved out 30 days, so they are not removed the moment you restore it.

If the original files had already been removed before you archived it, they cannot be brought back. The list of galleries ready to put away says so beside the gallery's size.
